Fran Whitaker

You already know about many of the primary benefits of using a daily planner. I've spoken about them a lot. Benefits include being organized in your personal and professional life, never missing an important event, and having a place to write down your to-do lists and other important ones. However, is it possible that you can improve your wellness by using a planner?

I briefly talked about health and fitness planners in my post about the different types of planners you can use. But today, I want to specifically talk about how you can use your daily planner to improve your wellness. This is one of my favourite things to do, and it can be really useful for your wellness, including mental and physical health.

Personally, I now track all my wellness information in my daily planner, color coded of course. But depending on how you like to do things, you might prefer to use a dedicated wellness planner. I've used may in the past and you might find that using one is an amazing healthy habit to develop.

Use your planner to Track Your Fitness Goals.

Fitness and physical activity are essential for everyone, not just people trying to lose weight or bulk up. No matter who you are, it is important to fit some exercise into your lifestyle. I mean, I would say this, right? I used to be a professional athlete.

Even if I didn't use to exercise for a living, I would still think tracking your fitness goals is a great way to improve your wellness.

Your planner is an excellent tool for this, as you can schedule workouts in the calendar section of the planner, then have pages for tracking activities and listing your individual fitness goals.

"Taking good care of yourself in a dynamic world full of processed foods, pollution and stress is essential for your physical and mental well-being. You don't have to spend a lot of money or go to expensive retreats to work on your wellness. All you need is a couple of hours, a little planning and your willpower." stravacraftcoffee.com

Keep Track of Weight and Measurements in your planner

For those trying to lose weight or maintain their current weight, a planner is a good tool for keeping track of your weight and measurements.

There are, of course, digital apps that do this, but sometimes you want everything in one place and to enter the weight or measurements on a date on your calendar - or individual days. Don't underestimate the power of putting pen to paper when tracking or setting goals to improve your wellness instead.

Planning out your meals in your planner

Another big part of health and wellness has to do with what you put into your body. Your diet isn't just about weight loss but about physical health and mental health.

You might have specific goals like reducing sugar and caffeine, or maybe you want to try to get to your five servings of fruit and veggies goal each day. Many planners will offer you the option to track what you eat, set nutrition goals, and even create a meal plan.

"Whether you're trying to lose weight, or just improve your diet, meal planning is an easy step to help you reach your goals. There are numerous advantages of planning out your meals in advance that can not only save your waistline but also improve your health." beaumont.org

Use your planner for Mental Health.

Wellness isn't just about your physical health, but mental health and emotional wellness as well. Planners offer so many mental health benefits, from reducing stress to helping with anxiety.

Using your planner regularly means you become more organized and don't have your mind full of things to do but no idea when and how to do them. Everything is scheduled and planned out, and you can have more time to create a self care plan you'll stick to.

"If something isn't working, do not be afraid to adapt your plan to one that works better for you and your lifestyle. Situations can change and you may want to adjust as well." eatsmartproducts.com

Use your planner to help you create a Daily Routine

Using your planner can also be good for your this when you add it to your daily routine.

This is my favourite way you can improve your wellness by using a planner.

Check-in, each day, write down the day's to-do lists, check on tasks for your next goal. Use it to its full advantage, and you will be amazed by how much better you feel.

The term 'wellness' refers to a multi-dimensional process about how you relate with everything in your life, from material objects to personal and work relationships to how well you take care of your spiritual wellness, physical wellness, emotional health and mental wellness.

These days we are constantly plugged into social media, which tracks our every move, thought and emotion. Studies show that checking your emails and social media is interfering with living your life. It sabotages your health, and it decreases your productivity, sometimes by half.

Therefore, sitting down and having a bit of quiet time with your planner can hugely benefit your health and wellness. Hopefully, I have given you a bit of an introduction to how you can improve your wellness by using a planner.
