Remaining confident isn’t easy all the time. But if you can use a few confidence boosters to help you start achieving your goals and escape your comfort zone, youโll be amazed! With confidence, you are able to trust that your instincts and abilities are good enough. If you lack confidence, you might find that you struggle to accept who you are. As a result, youโll lack the confidence to do things because you donโt trust that you can. Itโs a bit of a vicious cycle!
There may be times when you go through life feeling as if youโre not educated enough. Maybe you won’t feel skilled enough, smart enough, talented enough, or pretty enough. You judge yourself, often thinking of what you could say or do, and feeling like you always fall short. It is time to put the following confidence boosters to the test and see what happens.
9 confidence boosters
Dance like nobody is watching
Because, well, they’re probably not watching. Dancing is an excellent form of exercise that has been proven to make people feel more confident!
Be creative
Everyone can be creative, don’t tell yourself you can’t be! Even if you build your self confidence by doing some simple colouring or take your pencil for a walk… try it. Creativity breeds creativity. There is no telling what kind of awesome ideas might start flowing from you. Embracing creativity is one of the best confidence boosters!
Set small goals
Many people I meet do not set themselves goals because they are too afraid to fail. Firstly, failing is okay. Secondly, if you do not have any goals, where are you going? Set yourself small goals regularly and tick these off. You’ll soon see these forming bigger goals. This is probably one of the more major tips to be more confident.
Celebrate everything
Ticking off tasks on a to-do list, or ticking off your small goals, are achievements. If you can begin to recognise your achievements every single day, your confidence will soar.
Turn past mistakes into life lessons
This can be hard to do, but it is the most valuable thing you’ll ever do. We all (yes, all) make mistakes. But never allow these mistakes to define you! Sit down, look at those mistakes and work out how to turn these mistakes into lessons. Then use those experiences to try again. Always, no matter what, take the opportunity to learn something.

Smile purposely
Smile for no reason whatsoever every single day.
Your brain will soon get the message and start searching for real reasons to smile.
The more you smile, the more any negative thoughts will start slipping away.
Look at negatives in a new way
Learning to reframe daily experiences can lead to massive boosts in confidence. In fact, this is one of the ultimate confidence boosters. Did someone irritate you today? Look at it from their perspective – were they having a bad day? Was it as irritating as you felt? Can you laugh about it? Can you actually (secretly) feel good about it? Are there any positives you can take from it?
Keep a journal
I write about journaling a lot. Obviously. It can do wonders for your confidence and mindset as a whole. I recommend reading my post How Journaling can Boost your confidence.
Focus on what you want:
I am not telling you to be selfish and forget everyone else in your life. Although there are times when its okay to do this for a while. Instead, I believe that everyone needs to work out what they want from life rather than living according to what they think others want. This is your life! You own what you do – make sure you’re doing it the way you want to. Merely deciding to live life on your terms will immediately boost your confidence. Make sure you live it, too!
